What is the @DevonSchools Portal?
The @Devon Schools Portal is a website dedicated to Devon schools to enable quick and easy on-line ordering from anywhere in the world 24/7.

Why a @DevonSchools Portal?
Staff in schools can gain easy access 24/7 to their suppliers and on-line catalogues. The whole process will enable schools and their staff to save considerable time, avoid duplication of effort and save money. Orders can be placed more quickly so goods will be delivered faster. Suppliers will improve effectiveness and make efficiency savings too which we hope they will pass on via discounts or lower prices.

What process will we follow on the @DevonSchools Portal?

All users will have a login and ID set up by the bursar/administrator
As with any online shop users will add goods to basket but instead of a credit card a content order will be returned to school for approval.

What will I need to do in FMS to set things up?
Certain things will need to be done with FMS as a whole to get things prepared for this functionality, suppliers details will need additional information recoded. ScoMIS will supply you with details about all of this and these will also be posted on this website. DCC and @UK PLC are working with Suppliers and government agencies to ensure that this process can be as easy as possible for all concerned.

What about Torbay and Plymouth schools?
DCC and ScoMIS in particular have not forgotten you. We are ensuring the @Devon Schools Portal is fully functional before rolling out to more users.

Although DCC have started this portal, it is expandable to include schools in the County of Devon, not just DCC schools.

Your finance teams are aware of the progress we are making and we will be talking to them as things develop. The aim is, subject to the LEAs agreeing to contribute, to give Plymouth & Torbay schools access to the portal later in the year.
